Having a headache, and really feeling like shit, with an overhanging literature essay to hand in tomorrow. Great way to start a day... Didn't have much sleep, slept at 845pm, woke up at 1145pm to do one essay, slept again at 1.30am and woke up at 5.45am due to a wonderful stomach ache.

Is school taking its toll on me? Feeling more and more tired, and it seems that I'm almost burning out...
Whatever it is, I must not fall sick.

Time to prepare for another long day.

It's really been an eventful weekend lol... Quite a fun national day, jamming in the music room and Danielle taking 397509135 videos of us.
Today was Mug-a-Thon and while it was not really productive for me, I felt that I didn't really waste my time lol.. Fixed up some PA stuff in the
sanctuary, jammed a bit and had quite a bit of fellowship with the BcYouths.

Oh well.. It's school tomorrow and seriously...... 3 WEEKS AND 2 DAYS TO PRELIMS!!!

At the Cross - Hillsong

Prelim examinations in a little more than 3 weeks, and the stress is started to pile up. I think the two greatest challenges faced now is to have the discipline and determination to keep at it, keep studying, and to not burnout. It just seems so tiring...

Although it seems to be better now, I still feel as though there is a void within me. I don't think I know what I'm going to do in the future as a working adult. Somehow there is this lack of direction, and it is quite frightening, especially when typically it's these goals that spur you on to work hard in school.

Anyway.. Serving tomorrow in Church. Perhaps communion with God will help me to have some peace :)

Church was fine today, studied after that with Mel Tan, Danielle and Yixin.. Was pretty productive, though tiring.
Had quite a good discussion about issues with my mom and brother.
But I'm still not really at ease, I think I have been leaving God out of my life for too long.
The morning QT has all but stopped, and I seemed to be thinking more about school than him.

I don't know anymore, there is definitely more to life than this.

I pray I can find my way...

I GOT SILVER FOR NAPFA WHOO!!!

Thursday was normal.. until PE lesson came. Then we were notified of our retest about 5 minutes before it began. Started off pretty well, standing broad jump first station (my weakest station). Cleared it with a D, 222cm. Then the next was chin ups. I thought i could only do six or less, but somehow I did 10, clinching an A which eventually helped me to get a silver for Napfa. Situps and shuttle run were both Ds, doing 35 reps and 10.7s respectively. Sit and reach got a C. So as of then, I had 14 points, leaving the wonderful 2.4km run and my stomach was hurting like no mother.

Mr Chua gave us tips to pace ourselves, and running technique like taking wider steps and breathing in deeply instead of short panting. In the end, I ran 12:19, getting the last D and getting me 16 points, which is a silver pass :D

Really thanks to all my friends and family who pushed me and motivated me to train and who trained with me :) And of course God for giving me the strength and the drive to continue on!

Recently I've been feeling really overwhelmed, and overloaded. On Saturday, we had team leaders' meeting. Samuel talked about 4 potential pitfalls that leaders can make.

1st: Infrequent QT and lack of application of God's word in life
2nd: Tendency to blame things on others, rather than self
3rd: Absence of Peace, Love and Joy, and in its place envy and resentment
4th: Burned out due to lack of intimacy with Christ

This message was a very potent one to me, and it really had a just-in-time kind of feeling, because only then did I realise that I was kind of burned out, due to a lacking spiritual walk with God.

This is yet another way that God has demonstrated his care and concern for me, and hence for everyone. He knew that I was going through tough times, and hence he helped me to get back on the right track. "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7.

It's been awhile, but it's the last week of school for this term. It's amazing how fast time passes... It seemed like it was yesterday that term 2 just started.

I'm sick!... zzzzzz Got a bloody cold for two days.. Hope it's nothing serious because if I'm sick I cant possibly train for NAPFA...

Choir tomorrow! Panorama is next week, like so fast, and I think we are barely prepared. I think it's a waste of time.. Well at least we most probably have the December trip, provided no more swine flu :D:D:D

Really need to start studying properly... Time is kind of running out, and stress levels are rising, despite it being the start of the June holidays.. Ah I mean the June study fest.

We got SILVER for SYF!!!

Kinda have mixed feelings.. I feel proud of our choir that in 2-3 months we managed to bring our standard up so much... yet I feel like we didn't do our best, (esp bar 63 SOJ).... It's like we fixed that problem weeks ago, only for it to surface here again... This time with us (tenors) going off instead of the bass. I guess tenors, what we can learn from this, is to really be more conscious of what we sing... And to listen to the others and definitely not to be Gan Jiong!! Well it's over, and I'm really proud of the progress we have made as a section! So keep it up and push forward for the 2 golds in Slovakia!!!

Today, was bittersweet, as in some people got through the audition, some didn't... Jesper and Chen Xing, I feel quite bad that I wasn't able to give you enough help to sing well enough to pass the audition... Jesper I should have sent you to Bass immediately when you had difficulty reaching those high notes. In fact, I wanted to, but when I tested you, you seemed to be able to reach around F... I dunno man. I think if you had been put in bass, you would be in the SYF np, for this I really apologise.

I felt that i didn't put in enough time for CX, and you had your hectic TSD schedule to manage, along with choir committments. I'm really sorry to see you leave the choir, because I like your positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn.. and you are a great friend as well.

I'm definitely not disappointed in you guys, because I know you did your best! I hope you will not let this stop you from learning more and carrying on. In general, I felt guilty that I did not do enough as an SL... Sigh..

As for Charles, I was really sad that you lost the passion for singing, or if you ever had it at all I don't know. I wanted to help you, but you didn't seem to want the help, neither did you seem to be interested in trying. I'd thought that when you told me you wanted SYF you would work hard to improve. Well, I leave it up to you if you really want to really be a part of the choir, because I can never, and will never force you to stay in a group which you do not want to be a part of. All the best!

Life is getting much more hectic, with impending SYF and exams and the constant reminder that the big A is only 29 weeks away! Today was as slack as Tuesdays usually are. Freaking 4 hours of lesson and 4 hours of break in total... Absolutely retarded -.-

Today's wakeup call was a hard one. Truly as she mentioned our petty quibbling I felt rather ashamed at having that kind of attitude... I mean who are we to judge others when we ourselves are not yet perfect? It doesn't mean that if the other person's flaws are much more visible ours are insignificant and we are free to nitpick on others.

Choir we really gotta buck up. Get up and stand on our feet. We can get that Gold! Aim for it, want it. And that's all we really need, because we have the ability to do it! Jiayou! :)

What can I say? Napfa in 4 weeks, SYF in 19 days, A levels in 30 weeks... Seems like a bloody fun time.

Choir SYF is coming soon, and our sound is still quite really horrible. I don't know what to do anymore... Sure, we are improving really quickly, considering the state of the choir when the J1s first came in, 80% had no choir/music background. But it just seems as if it isn't enough. Just when it seems like people are starting to get better, screwups that should not have happened just rear their heads. If we are to get a gold for SYF, the choir must really want it, and be prepared to fight for it, and to really put in the effort to practise. Because the ability is there damnit! It's just the attitude and the relacjack attitude. I dunno lah... Is it really worth it? My studies are suffering, my health is suffering and I'm getting even more tired every day. I wonder...

Why can't everyone put in the same effort? Sigh...

It's been awhile. VJC performance was awful.

Our choir has the ability to sing well. We have talented people, and we are able to produce the sound that is desired. However, sometimes the motivation, the drive and most important of all, the discipline, is not present.

I guess stage fright kind of played a large part too... But come on guys! You can do it. You have the ability! Now just put in the effort and we are set for Gold in SYF.

GP SA1 was horrible. The Age of Uncertainty! Sounds like a new video game. =.=

Today's message was about Jesus' parable about the sower. It is actually more of the parable of the soil. We go to church, listen to the message and nod our heads and go "yeah that makes sense" and then we promptly forget it while wondering what to eat for lunch. Isn't that sad?

Maybe we should start listening, and actually applying what we learn in church. This way we can work towards having a closer relationship with God.

Choir camp was great although tiring. I sincerely hope everyone has enjoyed themselves during the short two day camp :) The first day was mostly choir practice until around 10.30 with a few breaks in between and of course dinner. Everyone was super shag after that, and fell asleep almost immediately after lights out. Had comm. meeting after lights out, where we half decided not to do patrolling since the teachers were there to take care of the members, and they seemed to want us all to sleep. Wanted to study with Roger but because of this couldn't...

Really must apologise to the tenors, for being rather snappy sometimes during sectionals.. :P No hard feelings I hope yeah? Keep up the joking guys so that the tenors will be bonded and united, and yet disciplined and focused when it comes to singing yeah?

Now I'm sadded that I couldn't go for last year's choir camp :P Oh well.. At least we enjoyed this year's! Next year it will be your turn J1s :D

It's been a long time since the last post... Well anyway, been feeling more empty lately, especially when caught up with studies and choir stuff. All the crap just piles up and hits you when you least expect it, and I seem all the more distant from God right now.

Choir is always a good escape from the stress of studies, but the SYF songs are giving me real headaches.. Especially when I have to teach them to my section. We are doing Nachtwache and Alleluja right now...

Tomorrow got leaders meeting/dinner, hopefully God will lead our fellowship and we will walk away refreshed and energised both spiritually and physically.

I just registered for NS T.T so fast! Kinda scared liao... yeah.. anyway Lit test tomorrow and India Trip presentation during assembly so..

Just came back from Genting.

I dunno if it's really right, to skip CNY visitation for the most part each year, never really been close to my cousins. And this doesn't really help matters much. So what if we have a large age difference, so what if we don't gel.. We are still cousins.

Then again, it was super sian, stoning at relatives' houses, and waiting anxiously to go home and of course to collect red packets. I dunno but it just does not seem right.

Anyway, Genting was alright I guess, but going with family = we go there slack slack and slack. No theme park, no casino (duh). Maybe one day can go with some friends lol.

That means, I MUST MANAGE MY TIME!!!

The largest problem would be managing time, but also keeping time aside for time with God.
I think the first step would be to make QT a regular thing and to do it every day without fail.

It's a new year, and it has been a long time since the last post.

I hope this year, I will be able to put more into serving Him, even though it is my A Levels year. As we start on a new year, we should look back on last year's resolutions. Have they been met? What about this year?

What have we been doing? What has been the focus of our lives? I don't know. For me, it seems like I'm focusing on material and the Now. Sometimes I feel like there has been no meaning to my life. After the AKHA trip, I felt empty. Because I witnessed the joy and enthusiasm of the kids at the centre, so pure and sincere. The way they sing, full of joy, and power. Compare it to the way we worship. We are late for service, and our singing is as if we are afraid to proclaim His glory.

We can learn a lot from the kids, and from their attitudes and enthusiasm. Hopefully, this year will be a fruitful year, and that many more will step up to serve Him.

Whee today carolling had to sing Silver Bells solo, give pitch AND rhythm... Wah was super nervous and screwed up a few times in the rhythm.. One time I even started the wrong song :(

Sadded... WYCF is over. Will miss the WYCF peeps very much!!!

Gala concert was great even though there were some hiccups here and there. Overall was a great performance and the audience enjoyed it. Kudos to the pianists especially our very own TPJC pianist haha :) And of course great job to the festival choirs as well!

Today had Sounds of Joy (Pain) practice... ZZZ super irritating song and difficult to learn. Best is I have to sing T1 :( ah cannot reach dots..

Carolling tomorrow, but most of the people carolling I hardly know.. sadded. Oh well.

WYCF is quite fun... We get to learn 2 german songs, 2 english songs and 1 italian song. The german songs are the worst, because we need to learn the pronunciation.. and it's super hard.. ach = ack (think achmed the dead terrorist) similar to doch. Ist = it minus the t. Then somemore must put into melody.. wah.. and all the high notes.. Tenors need to reach a G, and the basses have to reach a high E lol.. Basses nearly became tenors :P

Due to extensive singing and shouting to get to high notes, my voice is gone... And there is still till Saturday woohoo!

I feel weird... I just came back from India and am faced all over again with the troubles and crap with Singaporean life. Homework etc. At least there is her... and my friends to go through it together.. Yet I feel different than before the trip.

I dunno how to proceed with our relationship... Frankly, I'm lost at what to do, this being a first. Add the choir commitments and church stuff.. I feel kind of overwhelmed.

Only thing I can is pray and ask for help, and direction.

I think we all did well, the second presentation with like 7 assessors was scary even for the audience. I was feeling nervous and I wasn't even presenting lol. Congratulations to everyone for putting in their effort for this presentation! Whoo!

Late blog about birthday haha :P

Saturday was great, with choir in the morning. We sang with Wild Empire our conductor's adult choir. One of their tenors was really good haha! *envy* :P Anyway, lan with choir mates after that.. some funny games right there. Following that youth service! Then church peeps surprised me with a Cake haha really thanks so much for the effort and time :) No wonder cher wrote that lol rhyme on the taggie haha.

Sunday worship was good, another birthday cake for auntie Soke Fung and the November Babies! Missiong trip meeting was fun with lots of laughter, and we found out things about them adults hehehehehe. btw I M not doing Line Dancing grrr rawr. .... :D:D
Badminton was fun, i think i'm improving! XD

HAHAHAHAHA dry run was funny. I didnt have the script to do the powerpoint slides properly so I screwed up a bit :P Got Exceeding Expectations (EE) for Speaking, diction etc and Q&A, but i got ME for awareness of audience.. Grrrrrrr....

Sigh... Melanie is still urging me to go for Mission Trip at the end of the year. Come to think of it, I have no reason not to go, money isn't an issue, time isn't an issue and neither is the location. Probably the lethargy of living snug in Singapore is getting at me. Who knows..

Well I guess we will all know on Wednesday. It is the deadline for signing up... Ah well.. Dota time and school tomorrow.
